COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Tuskegee softball team defeated Georgia College & State, 6-2, and fell to host Columbus State, 10-2, on the second and final day of the Red, White, and Blue Classic on Sunday at Cougar Field in Columbus.

Tuskegee 6, GCSU 2
Tuskegee was the designated home team against the Bobcats and got to work early. After a scoreless inning on both sides, Harrison got on base with a walk to lead off the second, and later scored on a one out, two-run bomb from Chadwick, her first of the season.
Hampton got the ball for her third start of the season and retired four of her first six batters faced in the circle.
The Golden Tigers broke the game open in the bottom of the third, starting with a single from
Nylah Strange-Lindley. Morales singled next at the plate to put a runner in scoring position, while both scored later in the inning on RBIs from
Caroline Clark and Harrison.
Later in the frame, Ross hit a one-out double to drive home Harrison for the third run, while Chadwick doubled down the right field line to put Tuskegee up 6-9 heading into the fourth.
GCSU scored in the sixth and seventh innings, on a fielder's choice, and an RBI double in the final inning before Tuskegee closed out the seventh for the win.
Columbus State 10, Tuskegee 2
Tuskegee got on the board first again in the second game, this time in the top of the opening inning on an RBI single from Byrd and RBI double down the left field line from Chadwick to bring home Byrd.
Clark got the start but was replaced by Hampton in the bottom of the first after allowing four runs on just two hits.
Columbus State then struck back by plating six in its next appearance at the plate courtesy of two more hits and two Golden Tiger errors to make the score 10-2, where the game stayed for the remainder of the game.
Byrd and Rector scored the lone two runs in the game for Tuskegee, while Harrison, Rector, and
