TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ The Tuskegee baseball team opens the 2024 season this weekend on the road against Georgia College and State for a three-game series to start year two of the Chad Hall era.

Tuskegee heads into the new season coming off a 13-36 record in 2023, including going 11-21 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.
One of the top returners from last year's team is infielder
Alex Glass. The junior from Birmingham has 65 career starts under his belt, including 39 last season, and numbers of 81 hits, 60 runs scored and 49 RBI at the plate over the last two seasons. Fellow junior
Harrison Barnes also has over 60 starts in a Golden Tiger uniform, with splits of 61 hits, 50 runs scored, and 37 runs batted in in his career.
Other key returners include center fielder
Evan Jones, who batted .277 last year in 33 appearances and 28 starts, along with 28 hits, scored 24 runs, and added 20 RBIs in 2023.
Nicholas Pratt was also a contributor as a true freshman, as he finished with 28 hits and 18 RBI on a .246 batting average, while scoring 16 runs in 39 total games.
Georgia College and State, guided by fourth-year head coach Nolan Belcher, returns a total of 19 players from a squad that collected a 22-25 overall record before dropping the first two games of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament to be eliminated. The top returner for the Bobcats is three-time All-PBC performer Brandon Bellflower, who finished last season hitting .286 at the plate in 44 games, accounting for 48 hits, 43 RBI, and nine home runs, while scoring 38 runs.
GCSU was picked to finish sixth in the PBC preseason poll behind Georgia Southwestern, Columbus State, South Carolina-Aiken, Lander, and North Georgia.
The series will begin on Friday, February 2 at 4 p.m., before concluding with a doubleheader on Saturday, with times set for 12 and 3 p.m. CST.
