TUSKEGEE, Ala. — Tuskegee baseball dropped both games of a Friday home SIAC doubleheader against Savannah State at Washington Field, falling 10-7 in the opener and 10-2 in the nightcap.

Tuskegee struck first in the opening inning, taking an early 1-0 lead after

Savannah State responded in the third inning, capitalizing on multiple scoring opportunities to take control. The Tigers from Savannah plated three runs in the frame, highlighted by RBI production from Gabe Breckenridge and a series of advancement plays that turned small opportunities into runs.

The fourth inning proved to be the turning point, as Savannah State broke the game open with a six-run outburst. The inning featured timely hitting, including a two-RBI double from Kidane Stephens, along with aggressive baserunning and Tuskegee miscues that allowed additional unearned runs to score, pushing the lead to 9-1.

Tuskegee battled back late, showing resilience in the seventh inning. The Golden Tigers strung together quality at-bats, including RBI hits from
Jabari Johnson and contributions from Rashid McLeod and Morrow, trimming the deficit to 10-7. However, the rally fell short as Savannah State closed out the game.

Tuskegee finished with seven runs on seven hits, while Savannah State tallied 10 runs on 10 hits.

Savannah State once again controlled the momentum early in game two, using a three-run fifth inning to break a scoreless tie. The frame included RBI hits from John Sandoval and Chandler Hicks, giving the visitors a 3-0 advantage.

Tuskegee struggled to generate consistent offense against Savannah State's pitching staff, managing limited scoring opportunities through the middle innings.

Savannah State extended its lead in the seventh and again in the eighth, building a commanding advantage behind timely hitting and disciplined at-bats.

The Golden Tigers showed life in the eighth inning, scoring twice to avoid the shutout. The rally included RBI production from McLeod and Johnson, but Tuskegee was unable to sustain momentum into the final frame.

Savannah State finished with 10 runs on 14 hits, while Tuskegee recorded two runs on seven hits.
