TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ The Golden Tiger football team is set for the biggest game of the season, hosting Miles for the highly anticipated centennial homecoming game inside Abbott Memorial Alumni Stadium this Saturday.
The matchup, scheduled for a 1 p.m. kick, carries immense significance not only because of the historic homecoming celebration but also due to its possible implications for the SIAC standings.
ABOUT TUSKEGEE (5-4, 5-2 SIAC)
Tuskegee, sitting at 5-4 overall and 5-2 in the SIAC, is looking to rebound after a hard-fought 36-28 loss to Clark Atlanta last week, which snapped a five-game winning streak.
The Golden Tigers' offense has shown flashes of brilliance throughout the season, powered by a dynamic rushing attack that averages 150.8 yards per game.
The ground game has been a key factor, accounting for 15 touchdowns, with running backs
Desmond Leverette and
Johnny Morris leading the charge.
Leverette has gained a team-high 329 yards on the ground with three scores, while
Johnny Morris has 280 yards and four scores on the year.
Quarterback
Raequan Beal continues to orchestrate the offense efficiently. Beal has thrown for 1,308 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season, displaying a strong arm and an ability to make plays down the field.
His connection with wide receivers
Quavon Beckford and
Reggie Brigman has been crucial, with Beckford emerging as a reliable deep threat with 488 receiving yards and six touchdowns, along with Brigman at 454 yards and one score.
Defensively, the Golden Tigers have been a force to be reckoned with, particularly against the run. They have held opponents to 98.4 rushing yards per game, thanks to a stout front seven led by linebackers
Charles Davis Jr. and
Kaquan Kimber.
Davis has been the heartbeat of the defense, registering a team-high 55 tackles and consistently making plays behind the line of scrimmage. Kimber's ability to put pressure in the backfield has resulted in eight tackles for loss and a sack, helping the secondary make plays.

Moore has recorded 48 total tackles, along with four breakups, forced fumble, and quarterback hurry. Meanwhile, Grimes adds 44 stops, with 4.5 for loss and an interception.

ABOUT MILES (7-2, 7-0 SIAC)
Miles College enters the game with a formidable 7-2 overall record and an undefeated 7-0 mark in SIAC play.
The Golden Bears are riding a seven-game winning streak and have been one of the most well-rounded teams in the conference. Their offense is balanced, averaging 165.4 rushing yards and 186.6 passing yards per game, making them a difficult team to defend.
Running back Jonero Scott has been a workhorse for Miles, using his power and vision to pick up tough yards, leading the team with 85 carries and 461 yards, while quarterback Kamren Ivory has been efficient through the air, spreading the ball to multiple receivers on way to 1,245 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Golden Bears' defense has been a standout unit, holding opponents to just under 18 points per game. They have recorded 35 sacks and forced 15 interceptions, with the defensive trio of William Hardy, Jeremiah Hudson-Davis and Roc Dowdell leading the way.
Hardy leads the team with 56 tackles, including 5.5 for loss and four quarterback hurries, while Hudson-Davis had 49 stops, four pass breakups and two interceptions, followed by Dowdell with 37 tackles, including 13 for loss and seven sacks. The secondary has been disciplined and opportunistic, making it imperative for Tuskegee to protect the football and avoid costly turnovers.
