Four Golden Tigers Earn All-SIAC Honors in 2024 Football Season

ATLANTA, Ga. __ Four Tuskegee football players have earned All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) honors for their exceptional performances throughout the season, announced by the conference office on Friday morning.

Defensive back Malik Moore and kicking specialist Lorcan Ryans have been named to the All-SIAC First Team, while offensive lineman Elliott Howell and cornerback Mikael King Jr. secured spots on the All-SIAC Second Team.

Each of these athletes has demonstrated outstanding skills and dedication on the field, significantly contributing to Tuskegee's success this season.

Malik Moore - Defensive Back, Redshirt Junior - All-SIAC First Team
A dynamic force in Tuskegee's defense, Moore has been a standout with his versatility and relentless play.

He recorded 57 tackles over the season, with 32 solo stops, anchoring the defensive backfield. Moore's impact goes beyond basic tackling, as he led the team with nine tackles for loss, accumulating a total of 62 lost yards for opponents, and posted three sacks for 40 yards.

His ability to pressure the quarterback and contain the run game has made him an invaluable player in Tuskegee's front seven, constantly disrupting opponents' offensive strategies and keeping them off balance. Moore's consistent performance has been instrumental in solidifying the Golden Tigers' defense.

Lorcan Ryans - Kicker/Punter, Sophomore - All-SIAC First Team
A dependable presence on special teams, Lorcan Ryans has showcased accuracy and consistency in his kicking duties.

This season, he successfully converted 11-for-16 field goal attempts, with a season-long 47-yard field goal, and went 25-for-29 on extra points, contributing a total of 58 points. Ryans' skills as a punter have also been a strategic asset, as he averaged 34 yards per punt across 34 attempts, with three punts over 50 yards.

His ability to maintain field position has given the Golden Tigers a crucial edge, often limiting the opposition's starting position and bolstering Tuskegee's overall game management.

Mikael King Jr. - Cornerback, Junior - All-SIAC Second Team
Known for his versatility and athleticism, Mikael King Jr. has been a crucial asset to both Tuskegee's defense and special team units.

On special teams, King's contributions have been equally impactful. His quickness and field awareness have enhanced punt and kick coverage, along with his four blocked kicks, good for third in all of Division II and leading the conference. King's all-around play has made him an invaluable member of the team, underscoring his importance to the Golden Tigers' success across multiple game phases.

Elliott Howell - Offensive Line, Senior - All-SIAC Second Team
Elliott Howell has been a dependable presence on the offensive line, contributing significantly to both run blocking and pass protection. Howell's quickness and ability to read defensive alignments have been instrumental in maintaining a balanced attack, allowing Tuskegee's offense to stay versatile. His disciplined play has minimized penalties, and his consistent performance has helped the Golden Tigers control the line of scrimmage. Howell's contributions have been vital to keeping the offense moving efficiently and protecting the quarterback under pressure.

These honors reflect the hard work, resilience, and commitment of these players throughout the season. As Tuskegee Football looks ahead, the accomplishments of Moore, Ryans, and King Jr. set a high standard for the program, further establishing Tuskegee's reputation for excellence on and off the field.

This recognition also highlights Tuskegee's strong presence in the SIAC and celebrates the achievements of these talented athletes who have contributed immensely to the team's success this season.
