TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Nearing the final stretch of the regular season, the Golden Tigers volleyball team will head to Jackson, Tennessee, this weekend for another SIAC West Cluster, where they will face Lane, Central State, Kentucky State, and LeMoyne-Owen.
Tuskegee enters the weekend with a 7-10 overall record and a 4-8 mark in conference play, hoping to rebound from a 3-0 home loss to Spring Hill and end a four-game losing streak
ABOUT TUSKEGEE (7-10, 4-8 SIAC)
Tuskegee's offense has been led by
Moriah Seay, who has recorded 141 kills, averaging 2.31 kills per set, along with
Ma'Kayla Jones at 129 kills, and
Lauren Canady and
Sian Sprinkle at 111 and 105 total, contributing to the team's total of 663 kills over 61 sets with a .179 hitting percentage.
The Golden Tigers have been balanced defensively as well, amassing 816 total digs, with Seay leading the way with 165.
Mikea Allen and
Ziniah Hardy also have over 100 digs, at 112 and 107, while four more players have at least 50 on the season.
In terms of passing, Allen and
Amara Dotson have been instrumental, as Allen has a team-high 316 assists, followed by 219 from Dotson, contributing to the team's 591 total assists, helping Tuskegee average 9.69 assists per set.
ABOUT LANE (4-13, 3-7 SIAC)
Lane College, with a 4-13 overall record and 3-7 in the SIAC, will provide stiff competition.
Lane's offense is spearheaded by Kyra Gaston, who has tallied 156 kills, averaging 2.48 kills per set.
Defensively, Lane has registered 794 digs, with standout performances from Anayah Goss, while Syraia Harvey leads the passing with 545 assists.
ABOUT CENTRAL STATE (7-16, 4-7 SIAC)
Central State brings a 7-16 record into the weekend, with 4-7 in SIAC play.
The Marauders are powered by Zahra Coates, who leads the offense with 187 kills, averaging 2.43 kills per set.
Central State has registered 768 digs this season, with Alyvia Eide as a key contributor. Setter Brooke Morris has guided the team with 674 assists as Central State averages 8.43 assists per set.
ABOUT KENTUCKY STATE (5-9, 5-6 SIAC)
Kentucky State, sporting a 5-9 overall record and 5-6 in conference play, has been led offensively by Jaicee Corcoran, who has 99 kills, while the team has recorded 518 total kills, averaging 10.16 kills per set.
Defensively, Justice Mudd has been a standout with 217 digs, and setter Amber Gregory has a team-high 269 of Kentucky State's 491 team assists, ensuring the team averages 9.63 assists per set.
ABOUT LEMOYNE-OWEN (2-14, 0-9 SIAC)
LeMoyne-Owen, with a tough 2-14 record and 0-9 in conference, rounds out the competition.
Madison Stepter leads their attack with 113 kills, while defensively, Honesty Campbell has been reliable with 215 digs, while Stepter has added 21 total blocks.
The Magicians have posted 382 assists, with Jadyn Harris leading their passing game with a team-high 321 assists.
