TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Led by a double-double from junior
Moriah Seay, Tuskegee secured a non-conference home sweep over Oakwood with a score of 25-20, 25-15, 25-13 on Thursday evening inside of the Daniel "Chappie" James Arena.
Tuskegee hit a season-high .357 as a team, highlighted by a .379 clip (15-4-29) in the third and final set, and registered 9.0 blocks, nine aces and 58 digs. Oakwood posted a .040 team hitting percentage, 6.0 blocks, five aces and 37 digs.
Seay registered a match-high 12 kills on a .385 hitting percentage, 14 digs, and three aces. Freshman middle blocker
Sian Sprinkle added nine kills on .583 hitting, and four blocks, while fellow freshman
Rita Nua finished the game with ten assists, eight kills, and four digs.
Defensively, three Golden Tigers recorded double figure digs in the win in
Chloe Edwards, Seay, and
Trinity Winningham who all finished with 14 digs each.
