TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ The Tuskegee volleyball program has released their complete 2023 schedule on Friday, with their season starting in just under three weeks as they look to improve in the third year under former player and head coach
Pamela Perkins.
Â
In total, the schedule includes 25 regular season matches, including four at home and three conference cluster events, before the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball Championships.
Â
The Golden Tigers will start off the season with three of their first four matches on the road, opening against Lee University on Sept. 6, followed by their home-opener against Claflin on Sept. 11, and road matches against rival Miles and Claflin on Sept. 13 and Sept. 18 respectively.
Tuskegee will then head to play in the SIAC Crossover hosted by Albany State, the first of three SIAC weekend events on Sept. 22-23. While participating in the event, TU will face off against Albany State, Allen, and Benedict on day one, before battling Fort Valley State and Clark Atlanta to close out play.
Â
The Golden Tigers will return home for their next match, hosting non-conference opponent Oakwood on Sept. 27 inside of the Daniel "Chappie" James Arena, before heading north to Huntsville to face the Ambassadors a few days later on Oct. 2.
During the first weekend of October, Tuskegee will face Lane and LeMoyne-Owen on Oct. 6, before Kentucky State and Central State Oct. 7 to wrap up back-to-back days of play in the SIAC Cluster hosted by the Marauders.
Â
Next up will be a three-game home stand where the Golden Tigers will host Spring Hill (Oct. 10), Tallladega (Oct. 12), and Faulkner (Oct. 17) for their final three home matches.
Â
Following the trio of games, TU will participate in their final SIAC Cluster, this time hosted by Miles. The Golden Tigers will once again face Central State (Oct. 19), followed by LeMoyne-Owen and Lane (Oct. 20), before wrapping up the weekend against Kentucky State (Oct. 21).
Â
Tuskegee closes the regular season with three-game road trip to close out October, starting with non-conference trips to Talladega (Oct. 27) and nearby Huntingdon (Oct. 30), followed a final conference road match against Spring Hill (Nov. 3) before preparing for the 2023 SIAC Volleyball Championships.
