ALBANY, GA (May 2, 2023) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced the brackets for the 2023 Cricket SIAC Softball Championship Tournament, which returns to the Gordon Sports Complex beginning Tuesday, May 2 and concluding with a championship game on Thursday, May 4.
 
The tournament opens with eight games on Tuesday, May 2.
 
The first set of games feature the top four teams from each division. Tournament play will open with Game 1 featuring No. 2 East Albany State (16-6) versus No. 3 West Miles (13-6) on Field 3 and Game 2 will showcase No. 1 West Spring Hill (17-2) versus No. 4 East Clark Atlanta (10-12) on Field 2 at 10 a.m. Game 3 will feature No. 2 West Tuskegee (15-4) as they take on No. 3 East Fort Valley State (10-12) on Field 3 at 12:30 p.m. In Game 4, No. 1 East Edward Waters (19-3) will face No. 4 West Lane (11-6) at 12:30 p.m. on Field 2.
 
The double-elimination bracket will continue with a pair of games at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Advancing and non-advancing teams from Games 1 and 2 will advance to Games 5 and 6 which will be played at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. 
 
Games 7 and 8 will be played at 5:30 p.m. and will feature advancing and non-advancing teams from Games 3 and 4.
 
Five games will be played on Wednesday, May 3.
 
The winner of Game 6 and 8 will advance to Game 11 at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
 
Non-advancing teams will fall into the loser's bracket and compete in Games 9 and 10 which will begin at 11 a.m. on Fields 2 and 3. Game 9 will feature the Loser of Game 8 versus Winner of Game 5 and Game 10 will highlight the Loser of Game 6 versus Winner of Game 7. 
 
The second day of the tournament will conclude with Games 11, 12, and 13, scheduled for 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m., respectively on Wednesday.
 
The 2023 Cricket SIAC Softball Championship game will be played on Thursday, May 4 at 2 p.m.
