HUNTSVILLE, Ala. __ The Tuskegee University volleyball team picked up their second win over non-conference foe Oakwood University in the span of five days with a 3-1 game inside of Ashby Auditorium on Monday afternoon.
Junior Moriah Seay recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 22 digs and a season-high 16 kills on a .316 hitting percentage, along with two blocks. Freshman Sian Sprinkle also finished with double figure kills, accounting for ten kills and seven blocks.
Setters Mikea Allen and Rita Nua both had double figure assists, with Nua having 17 assists, seven digs, and five kills, while Allen had 16 assists, five digs and an ace.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | After Oakwood scored the first point of the game, the lead changed hands after Tuskegee took a 4-3 lead. The two teams battled back-and-forth for the next round of points, as the set saw a total of ten ties and five lead changes. With the score tied at 13-13, the Golden Tigers took control of the frame, scoring seven unanswered before taking the 25-22 win.
SET 2 | The second set had a similar start to the first, as Oakwood got an early lead before Tuskegee used a 4-0 run to take an 8-7 lead, forcing a timeout. The score remained close out of the break, before another short run gave the Golden Tigers a 12-9 lead and continued to control the game before winning 25-17.
SET 3 | Tuskegee dropped the third set behind 11 attack errors and three Ambassador service aces in the frame. The score was tight throughout the first of the set, however Oakwood gained momentum with a 12-5 run after the score was tied 13-13. Oakwood won the set 25-18.
SET 4 | Tuskegee took a 4-0 to start the fourth, and controlled the momentum the entire set, later gaining a 11-5 lead. With the Golden Tigers leading 15-11, they went on a 10-0 run to close the set and game at 25-11.

The Golden Tigers will resume play this weekend, as they compete in the SIAC West Cluster, hosted by Central State in Wilberforce, Ohio. Tuskegee will face Lane and LeMoyne Owen on Friday, October 6, before wrapping up the cluster with matches against Kentucky State and Central State on Saturday, October 7.
