ATLANTA, Ga. I The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its softball weekly honors, with Tuskegee student-athletes sweeping the honors released by the league office on Monday.

Kendra Gibbons (Lineville, Ala.) was named Player of the Week, while pitcherÂ
Alexis Paredes (Pelham, Ala.) earned Pitcher of the Week honors after the Golden Tigers' weekend sweep over LeMoyne-Owen.

Gibbons finished the weekend 7-for-8 with a pair of home runs along with 8 RBIs and three stolen bases in three games, including two perfect outings at the plate in the final two games against LeMoyne-Owen. The graduate student went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a stolen base in game one, 2-for-2 with a double, 3 scores, 2 RBIs and a walk in the second, and 3-for-3, with another home run and four runs batted in to close the series.Â

Paredes pitched a no-hitter on Friday, working all five innings of the contest and struck out five of the 16 LeMoyne-Owen batters she faced. Allowing just one on by a walk, she was one runner away from a perfect game in the win.
