Early lead for Florida Tech seals fate for Golden Tigers

Box Score MELBOURNE, Fla. | The Golden Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 24-2 loss to Florida Tech on Friday afternoon. 
 
Florida Tech scored on a walk by Sam Schner, an error, and a groundout by Jakob Newton in the second inning.
 
Tuskegee struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Panthers, giving up 24 runs.
 
In the second inning, Florida Tech got their offense started when Schner drew another walk, scoring one run.
 
The Panthers scored ten runs in the fifth inning, driven by singles by Dylan Owens and #14, doubles by Alec Eldridge and Schner, a home run by Hayden Kimball, by Austin Sewell, and an error on a ball put in play by Kimball.
 
Mitchell Harding pitched Florida Tech University to victory, lasting four innings and allowing one hit while striking out six
 
Malaki Roberts took the loss for Golden Tigers. The pitcher went three innings, allowing ten runs on seven hits.
 
Caleb Cobb led Tuskegee with two hits in five at bats.
 
Florida Tech University racked up 19 hits in the game.  Schner, Owens, Jack Nagy, Eldridge, and Harding each collected multiple hits for Florida Tech University.  Schner went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the Panthers in hits.
