Game Recap: Softball |

Softball completes action at Cougar Classic

Game 1
Tuskegee held Columbus State scoreless in the first, but Calli Star tucked a solo home run inside the left field foul pole in the second to get their offense started, and Keeli Waugh later singled home Beyer to make it a 2-0 game. In the third, Perdue got in on the act with a three-run missile over the left-centerfield wall to stretch the lead to five.

Perdue wasn't done though. The junior stepped up with the bases loaded in the following inning and promptly unloaded them with a grand slam.

Just for good measure, Star cranked out her second homer of the game to go back-to-back and finish off the scoring for CSU.

Perdue was 2-for-3 in game two as well, driving in seven runs. All nine Lady Cougar starters had at least one hit in the game.

Game 2
In game two the Golden Tigers allowed offense from North Georgia to stay hot starting with six runs in the first inning with 11 batters sent to the plate.

In the second inning, Brooke Wakenigg and Laken Chambers hit RBI doubles to add three more runs to the scoreboard before another three-run inning in the fourth. Turner and Alishia Frierson each had RBI singles in the fourth inning, while Lexi Duncan earned a RBI by drawing a walk for the game's final run.

Jasmyne Lawrence and Roneshia Rudolph each earned one hit each. Ashley Tyler picked up the loss for TU. She allowed 12 runs off 16  hits.

Four pitchers combined for the shutout with Amber Johns claiming the win. Riley PattonBria Bush and Chambers each threw one inning.
