COLUMBUS, Ga. | The Tuskegee University women's track and field team finished sixth at the Cougar Classic Saturday afternoon, their final regular season meet of the season.

Evelyn Williams ran a season-best time of 6:11.04 in the 1500-meters, beating her time of 6:11.47 at the Emory Invitational just two weeks ago.
Ariel Truitt scored points for Tuskegee in the meet, finishing sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 16.45 seconds. She finished just 0.13 seconds out of fifth place and 0.22 seconds out of fourth in the event.

The 4x100-meter relay team finished sixth in the event with a time of 52.32 seconds.

In field events on Saturday,
Nandi Rollins finished third in the high jump matching her personal best of 1.45 meters.
Destiny McLendon finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 4.79 meters, while Rollins finished eighth in the event with a distance of 4.00 meters.

Cheyanne Williams finished fifth in the shot put with a distance of 10.35 meters, finishing just 0.16 meters out of fourth in the event. The distance is a season-best for Williams, beating her distance of 10.16 meters set last week at the Emory Classic.
India Hill also finished in the top 10 in the event, finishing ninth with a distance of 8.90 meters.

Williams also finished eighth in the javelin with season-best throw of 22.86 meters, while Hill finished 13th in the same event.

Tuskegee will take a week off before participating in the SIAC Championships in Rock Hill later this month.
