FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. | The Tuskegee University baseball team will continue their February road swing, looking to end a four-game losing streak as they face Nova Southeastern University in a three-game series beginning Friday night.

The two teams will open the series at 6 pm (est).

Sophomore
Trey Nelson (0-1) gets the start in game one, his third start of the season and second consecutive series-opening start. The sophomore has a 3.18 earned run average in 11.1 innings of work with nine strikeouts. Fellow sophomore
Daniel Croom (1-0) will get the start in game two after missing last weekend's series against Alabama-Huntsville. Croom has a 0.00 earned run averaged in two innings of relief work against Selma earlier season.

Joseph Mauldin (1-1) will get the start in game three with a 4.09 earned run average in 11 innings of work. Mauldin has recorded nine strikeouts and allowed 13 hits.

Offensively, the Golden Tigers are led by
Elgin Woodside through seven games with a .481 batting average. The freshman has recorded 13 hits in 27 at-bats with a pair of home runs, and 10 runs batted in.
Evan Kearse is hitting right at .400 with six hits this season, including a double and triple, with six runs batted in.

The Golden Tigers have six other players who are hitting .300 or better in the early portion of the schedule, including newcomers Mauldin and
Ricky Green. Preseason All-SIAC selection,
Alexander Henderson is hitting .353 though seven games with six hits and a pair of runs batted in.

The two teams have one common opponent, Alabama-Huntsville, in which the Golden Tigers lost the series and Nova Southeastern won their series against the Chargers.

The Golden Tigers and Nova Southeastern will finish the series on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 pm (est).
