MOBILE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University volleyball team could not overcome the hot-hitting Badgers of Spring Hill College, falling in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action 3-0 (10-25.13-25,9-25) on the road Friday night.
Tuskegee (11-16, 11-8 SIAC) fell behind early in the match and could not overcome the .305 hitting percentage of Spring Hill (27-5, 18-0 SIAC). The Badgers hit .393 in the opening set, followed by .286 in the second and .231 in the third en route to the victory.
Donovan Wingfield led the Lady Golden Tigers offensively with four kills, while
Jessica Johnson added three of the team's 13 kills on the night.
Janae Graham assisted on all but two of the kills on the night, racking up 11 assists. Graham also led the way defensively with seven digs, while
Taliyana Bryant added six and
Angelique Watson five in the loss.
Savannah Becnel led Spring Hill with nine kills, while Molly Griiffin added eight and Sarah Senft seven in the Badgers' victory.
Tuskegee returns to action Tuesday night on the road, facing in-state rival Miles College in Birmingham. The match starts at 6 pm.
