FAIRFIELD, Ala. | The Tuskegee University volleyball team completed the regular season sweep of in-state rival Miles College with a 3-1 (21-25,25-17,25-19,25-20) victory on the road Tuesday night.
Tuskegee (12-16, 12-8 SIAC) completed the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) portion of their schedule with the Tuesday night victory, and finish just percentage points behind Kentucky State for the top seed in the West Division.
Taliyana Bryant continued her hot play that started last Saturday against Clark Atlanta with a match-high 14 kills on 26 total attempts. She finished the night hitting .385 with just four attack errors, while recording a service ace.
Kiara Hooks came off the bench to give the Lady Golden Tigers a lift after falling in the first set, recording a career-high 11 kills on 28 total attacks and finishing the night hitting .179 with five digs.
Janae Graham led Tuskegee with 35 assists, recording an assist on all but 11 of the Lady Golden Tiger kills Tuesday night.
Zahria Radford led the Lady Golden Tigers with 12 digs, while three other players -
Shakayia Wilson, Graham and
Brianna Fisher - finished with six digs each in the victory.
Alexus Moore led Miles with nine kills, while Kayla Ford led the Golden Bears with 22 assists.
Tuskegee returns to action Saturday afternoon on the road in the regular season finale against the University of Alabama-Huntsville. The match starts at 4 pm in Huntsville.
