TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University volleyball team opened homecoming week with a 3-0 (25-19,25-14,27-25) victory over Miles College in a key Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) matchup at Chappie James Arena Monday night.

The two teams traded points in the first set, until Tuskegee took advantage of an error by Miles to take a 13-12 lead. The error ignited a 3-0 run which was highlighted by a kill by Wilson; before Miles was able to pull within a point at 18-17. After the two teams traded points to make it 19-all, the Lady Golden Tigers scored the next six points to win the opening set 25-19.

The Lady Golden Tigers exploded in the second set to run away from Miles to take a two-set lead, running to a 7-1 lead to start. The lead stayed at seven most of the set until Tuskegee scored six of the last 10 points of the set to win the second set 25-14.

Tuskegee looked to have the match won easily in the third, racing out to a 23-18 lead before Miles trimmed the lead to 24-23. After a service error tied the score at 24-all, Miles had a set point when an attack from Shakayia Wilson narrowly missed the line. Tuskegee avoided a set point on a service error to tie the score at 25-all, before a service ace from Brianna Fisher gave Tuskegee another match point, their second of the night.
