WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. | Tuskegee University closed their opening weekend at the Spike Out Hunger Tournament, falling to Shepherd University 3-0 (22-25,15-25,23-25).
Tuskegee (1-2) was led by
Jamiah Breda-Nixon with eight kills, hitting .533 with 15 total attacks.
Pamela Allen added seven kills in the nightcap, hitting .118 with 17 total attacks.
Rachael Wood and
Donovan Wingfield each added three kills in the loss.
Morgan Scrivens added 19 assists, while
Zahria Radford added a match-high 16 digs in the loss.
"This weekend was a good opening weekend for us," Robinson said. "We were able to work out a few kinks and get a little more comfortable working together as a team.
