FAIRFIELD, Ala. | Jamiah Breda-Nixon posted a match-high 10 kills to help lead the Tuskegee University volleyball team to a 3-0 (26-24,25-15,25-18) in SIAC play Thursday night.
Breda-Nixon was the lone player on either team to finish in double figures in kills, while hitting .308 on 26 total attempts. Junior
Pamela Allen, the reigning SIAC Offensive Player of the Week finished with nine kills on 19 total attempts - hitting .211 for the match.
Donovan Wingfield added six kills, and
Jacqueline Wilson four in the victory.
Morgan Scrivens added 24 assists on the 31 kills for the Tigerettes, while Rachel Wood and Breda-Nixon added three service aces each. The Tigerettes added to their nation-leading service aces total with nine for the match.
Wilson led Tuskegee (10-8, 8-5 SIAC) with five blocks, while Wingfield added three solo blocks. Meanwhile,
Zahria Radford led the way with 11 digs, while
Janae Graham finished with 7. Scrivens added six digs, while Allen and Breda-Nixon each added five.
Tuskegee finished the night hitting .137 as a team, while holding Miles (4-14, 4-10 SIAC) to -.093 hitting for the match with just 20 kills.
The Tigerettes return to action Friday night, hosting Spring Hill College. The match is scheduled to start at 6 pm at Chappie James Arena.
