Golden Tigers' Baseball Fall Shy of 2014 SIAC Gold

OZARK, Ala. – The Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University fell short in their quest for the 2014 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Championship. With an 8-1 loss to the Stillman Tigers, Tuskegee's season came to an end.
 
Fernando Tanaka and Nick Boggs scored the first runs for Stillman in the bottom of the third.
 
The scored remained 2-0 until, the Golden Tigers' lone run in the top of the fifth inning. Brandon Mapp's single to centerfield, brought Russell Cornin in and earned him a RBI.
 
Tuskegee had three pitchers on the mound today, with starting pitcher William Buford recording the loss on the mound. In the 4.2 innings he pitched, he gave up seven hits, six runs, three errors, two walks and one strikeout.

Ashton Johnson pitched five innings, received the win as he only allowed one run on seven hits.

With the loss, the Golden Tigers finished the season 19-21 overall and 10-10 in conference.
