Tyrece “Coach Rece” Battle is an accomplished volleyball coach, former professional athlete, and nationally recognized leader in athlete development.

He joined the Tuskegee University volleyball program in 2025 as an assistant coach, bringing with him a wealth of experience, technical knowledge, and passion for elevating the Golden Tigers’ performance on the court.

Battle has quickly become one of the rising stars in the volleyball coaching community. In 2025, he was named to the prestigious AVCA Top Thirty Under 30 Coaches Award, honoring his impact and success at an early stage in his coaching career. In 2024, he earned the AVCA Diversity Award for his contributions to expanding opportunities and advancing the game within underrepresented communities.

In addition to his role at Tuskegee, Battle serves as the Co-Director and Head Coach of the 18s Girls' and 18s Boys' teams at the Georgia Aces Volleyball Club, which he owns and operates. Through his club program, he has developed numerous athletes who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, establishing himself as a trusted mentor and technical specialist in both indoor and beach volleyball.

Before transitioning fully into coaching, Battle was a three-sport collegiate athlete and a professional volleyball player, experiences that shaped his coaching philosophy and commitment to excellence. He is also a sports performance specialist, using his training expertise to design programs that enhance strength, speed, and overall athletic ability. His background allows him to take a holistic approach to athlete development, focusing not just on skill but also on conditioning, mindset, and leadership.

Known for his energy, innovative coaching style, and dedication to helping players maximize their potential, Battle plays a key role in the Golden Tigers’ growth as they continue to compete in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and beyond.
