Latifah Kelly

Latifah Kelly enters her second year as an assistant coach for the softball program, after being named to the staff last year.

Kelly helped lead a pitching staff that included two new players on the roster this season. She led a staff with two players who ended the year with sub 4.00 earned run average; including SIAC Player of the Year Kaylin Finch. She was also part of the staff that helped the Lady Golden Tigers win their third consecutive Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) championship, and third consecutive berth in the NCAA Division II South 1 Region.

Kelly played softball for the Tuskegee University Softball team from 2010-2014, winning several awards including being named to the All-SIAC team as a junior and senior. During her junior season, Kelly was named the SIAC Starting Pitcher of the Year and the Tuskegee MVP.

She was also named Preseason All-SIAC during senior season, as well as the conference starting pitcher of the year. She was also selected to All-Tournament team in the SIAC Tournament, the SIAC Tournament MVP and the Tuskegee University MVP.

Her honors did not start toward the latter part of her career as Kelly was named All-SIAC as a sophomore and was selected to the SIAC All-Tournament Team. She was named to the SIAC Crossover All-Tournament Team and named the Tuskegee MVP.

Kelly helped the softball program win its first conference tournament championship during her senior season, when she was on the mound and defeated Albany State. The team participated in its first NCAA Division II regional, where Kelly helped lead the eighth-seeded Lady Tigers to an upset victory over top-seeded Alabama-Huntsville.

Kelly served as a student assistant/pitching coach for the 2015 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) championship team.

She graduated from Tuskegee University in the summer of 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
