TUSKEGEE, Ala. — Tuskegee men's basketball senior forward
Kusamae Draper continues to add to an award-winning season as he has been named to the 2025-26 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region First Team, while also earning First Team HBCU Division II All-America honors from BOXTOROW.
The D2CCA All-Region teams recognize the top players across NCAA Division II and are voted on by sports information directors within each region. The South Region includes institutions from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), Gulf South Conference (GSC), and Sunshine State Conference (SSC). Draper was the only player from the SIAC named to the First Team this season.
The 6-foot-9 senior capped an outstanding year for the Golden Tigers, averaging 16.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while starting all 29 games during the 2025-26 season. Draper logged 32.1 minutes per game, shooting 43.6 percent from the field while finishing the year with 466 points and 211 rebounds.
A dominant presence in the paint throughout the season, Draper also totaled 77 offensive rebounds, along with 45 assists, 24 steals, and seven blocks while consistently anchoring Tuskegee's frontcourt on both ends of the floor.
He recorded numerous standout performances during the year, including a 30-point performance at Alabama A&M and multiple 20-point outings throughout conference play. Draper also posted several games with double-digit rebounds, showcasing his ability to impact the game beyond scoring.
Draper's regional recognition comes after a historic season in which he was also named the SIAC Player of the Year, helping lead the Golden Tigers to another strong campaign.
In addition to his regional honor, Draper was selected as a First Team HBCU Division II All-American by BOXTOROW, which released its 17th annual HBCU Division II All-America teams recognizing the top players from historically Black colleges and universities competing at the NCAA Division II level.
The BOXTOROW First Team featured some of the top HBCU players in the country, including Larry Howell (Fayetteville State), Alex Atkinson (Claflin), Avery Huggins (Shaw), Myles Pierre (Bluefield State), and Najashi Tolefree (Miles) among others. Draper was one of 10 players nationally selected to the First Team.
The D2CCA First Team All-South Region selection places Draper among the top five players in the entire South Region and advances him to the ballot for D2CCA All-America consideration.
Draper was joined on the D2CCA All-South Region First Team by Dallas Graziani (Nova Southeastern), Ross Reaves (Nova Southeastern), Derek Moore (Montevallo), and Preston Le Gassick (Palm Beach Atlantic).
With multiple national and regional honors now added to his resume, Draper closes his Tuskegee career as one of the most decorated players in recent program history.
