Women's Basketball Falls at Allen in SIAC Road Matchup

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Tuskegee women's basketball team dropped a 69-56 decision on the road to Allen University on Thursday afternoon inside the Adams Gymnasium.

Allen opened the game with an early surge, outscoring Tuskegee 14-4 in the first quarter as the Golden Tigers struggled to find rhythm offensively. The hosts continued to build momentum in the second period, using strong perimeter shooting and points off turnovers to take a 40-21 advantage into halftime.

Tuskegee responded with renewed energy coming out of the break, cutting into the deficit during the third quarter. Aliyah Durham led the charge, scoring consistently in the paint and attacking the glass as the Golden Tigers posted their strongest offensive stretch of the afternoon. Tuskegee outscored Allen 17-12 in the third quarter, trimming the margin to 52-38 heading into the final period.

The Golden Tigers continued to battle in the fourth quarter, with Tenea Robinson and Jaydyn Bullard providing key buckets and trips to the free-throw line. Despite the push, Allen answered with timely scoring and efficient free-throw shooting down the stretch to maintain control and seal the win.

Durham finished with a team-high 19 points to go along with four rebounds and three steals, while Robinson added 17 points, knocking down nine free throws. Bullard chipped in five points and two rebounds off the bench. Tuskegee forced 25 turnovers and scored 20 points off those miscues, but struggled from the field, shooting 35.3 percent overall and 18.2 percent from three-point range.

Allen was led by Morgan Smith, who posted a game-high 22 points while shooting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. The Yellow Jackets shot 43.1 percent from the floor and went 11-of-13 from the free-throw line, using balanced scoring and strong bench production to pull away late.
