Tuskegee Starts Fast and Cruises in Second Half for 76-57 Road Win

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Tuskegee men's basketball team delivered a strong all-around performance on the road Thursday night, pulling away in the second half to secure a 76-57 victory over Allen inside Adams Gymnasium.

Tuskegee set the tone early, building a 38-21 halftime advantage behind efficient shooting and control of the glass. The Golden Tigers shot 48.5 percent from the floor in the opening half while holding Allen to just 29.0 percent, forcing the Yellow Jackets into contested looks and capitalizing on transition opportunities.

Allen attempted to respond after the break, trimming into the margin early in the second half, but Tuskegee answered with timely baskets and consistent defensive pressure. The Golden Tigers maintained composure down the stretch, outscoring Allen 38-36 in the final 20 minutes to preserve the double-digit lead and close out the conference win.

Khalil Genwright led all scorers with 21 points, finishing 9-of-15 from the field while adding seven rebounds. Kusamae Draper posted a strong double-double effort with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, anchoring the interior on both ends of the floor. Roy Obsaint also chipped in 14 points, converting five free throws and contributing 12 rebounds to give Tuskegee multiple scoring options throughout the night.

As a team, Tuskegee finished the contest shooting 43.5 percent from the field and held a significant rebounding edge, 49-25. The Golden Tigers also outscored Allen 42-22 in the paint and recorded 18 second-chance points, repeatedly extending possessions and wearing down the home side.

Allen was led by Emon Glenn, who finished with 10 points off the bench, while Shuler Jacquez and Morgan Smith added nine and eight points, respectively. Despite improved shooting in the second half, the Yellow Jackets were unable to overcome their early deficit.

Tuskegee will remain on the road for its next contest, facing Benedict on Saturday for a 3 p.m. matchup inside HRC Arena.
