TUSKEGEE, Ala. — The Tuskegee baseball team opened SIAC conference play on Friday afternoon at Washington Field, falling in both games of a doubleheader to Lane College. Lane claimed the opener 10-3 before securing the second game 7-3.

Lane 10, Tuskegee 3
Tuskegee (1-6) struck first in the third inning when
Collin McLain delivered an RBI single to center field to plate R. Mcleod and give the Golden Tigers an early 1-0 lead.

Lane responded with a five-run sixth inning to take control of the contest, capitalizing on timely hitting and extended at-bats. The Dragons finished with 10 hits in the opener.

The Golden Tigers added runs late in the contest. In the eighth inning,
Jeremih Francis drove in
Austin Evans with an RBI single before
Terry Ware delivered an RBI triple in the ninth to account for Tuskegee's third run.

McLain and Francis each recorded RBIs, while Ware added a triple to highlight the Golden Tigers' offensive output.

In the nightcap, Lane again used a big middle inning to build separation, plating multiple runs in the fourth.

Tuskegee responded in the third inning when McLain scored on a passed ball after reaching base and advancing on a sacrifice. Later in the seventh, the Golden Tigers added two runs as Francis delivered an RBI single and Ware followed with an RBI triple to trim the deficit.

Despite recording eight hits in the second contest, Tuskegee was unable to overcome Lane's early offensive surge.
