Box Score

TUSKEGEE, Ala. — Tuskegee women's basketball battled through four quarters and overtime to snap back into the win column, defeating SIAC rival Albany State 70-65 in an overtime thriller Monday evening at the Daniel "Chappie" James Center.

The Golden Tigers (10-6, 10-5 SIAC) showed resilience after trailing late in regulation, forcing overtime and then outscoring the Lady Rams 10-5 in the extra period to secure the home victory.

Tuskegee found itself in a tight contest throughout, with neither team able to pull away. Albany State held narrow leads during stretches of the second and third quarters, but Tuskegee kept the game within reach behind balanced scoring and defensive pressure.

The Golden Tigers entered the fourth quarter down three, before closing regulation with key defensive stops and free throws to send the game into overtime tied at 60.

In the extra session, Tuskegee took control early. Arianna Durrell and Tenea Robinson each scored key baskets, while the defense limited Albany State to just five points in overtime. Tuskegee sealed the win at the free-throw line, finishing the night 18-for-27 from the stripe.

Durrell led the Golden Tigers with 15 points, adding six assists and three steals in 41 minutes. Robinson matched her with 15 points, going 7-for-9 from the free throw line while adding four rebounds and two assists. Shemaiah Mackin turned in a dominant performance inside, recording a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds, anchoring Tuskegee on the glass.

Breanna Glaze added 12 points, knocking down 3-for-5 from long range, including the game-tying three in regulation, while Erin Perry chipped in nine points and 11 rebounds, giving Tuskegee four players in double figures.

Tuskegee finished the game shooting 41.5 percent (22-for-53) from the field and 38.1 percent (8-for-14) from three-point range, while forcing 22 Albany State turnovers that led to 24 points off turnovers. The Golden Tigers also held a 44-30 rebounding advantage.

Albany State was led by Jada Morgan with 15 points, while Sariah Johnson added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Rams.

Tuskegee will look to build on the momentum as SIAC play continues later this week, as the team travels to Fort Valley State on Thursday, January 22 at 5:30 p.m. ET.
