ATLANTA, Ga. — Tuskegee women's basketball swept the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) weekly honors as guard Arianna Durrell was named SIAC Newcomer of the Week and forward Shemaiah Mackin earned SIAC Player of the Week, following a dominant 2-0 conference stretch for the Golden Tigers.
 
Mackin delivered one of the most complete performances in the league this week, averaging 17.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals across Tuskegee's wins over Fort Valley State and Clark Atlanta. She opened the week with a 20-point, 12 rebound double-double, controlling the paint on both ends of the floor, before adding 14 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday's 62-54 comeback victory over Clark Atlanta. Mackin shot 60 percent from the field, logged over 37 minutes per game, and consistently anchored Tuskegee's inside presence while ranking among the top rebounders in the SIAC.
 
Durrell shined equally bright in her first full week of league play, averaging 15.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.5 assists, while emerging as one of the most impactful newcomers in the conference. She scored 20 points against Clark Atlanta, including four three-pointers and the critical go-ahead basket that gave Tuskegee its first lead during a decisive fourth-quarter surge. Her seven total steals on the week sparked multiple transition opportunities and highlighted her two-way impact as the Golden Tigers extended their strong start to SIAC competition.

The weekly sweep marks Tuskegee's first of the 2025-26 season and underscores the momentum building within a Golden Tiger squad that continues to gain strength early in conference play. Tuskegee returns to the court at home on Tuesday afternoon, hosting Kentucky State at 2 p.m. inside the Daniel "Chappie" James Center.
