Preview: Women’s Basketball Eyeing Rivalry Battle Looking for Fifth Straight Win

TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Tuskegee women's basketball will travel to face Miles in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) showdown on Saturday, January 25, at 1:00 p.m. inside of Bartow Arena  in Birmingham.
 
The Golden Tigers come into the game with a 9-8 overall record and a 6-4 mark in the SIAC, having won four consecutive games.
 
In contrast, Miles College enters the game with an 11-3 overall record and an impressive 8-2 record in conference play.

ABOUT TUSKEGEE (9-8, 6-4 SIAC)
Tuskegee is coming off a dominant 62-47 win over Kentucky State on Monday, marking their fourth straight victory following SIAC wins over LeMoyne-Owen, Albany State, and Central State.
 
Tuskegee's offense has been led by senior guard Brittney Bolin, who is averaging 11.1 points per game. Bolin has been a key player throughout the season, recently surpassing 1,000 career points, and has contributed both offensively and defensively with an average of 4.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
 
Alongside her, Hilani Cantone has been a consistent contributor, averaging 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 33 minutes per game. Her ability to make plays and stretch the floor, with double figure three-pointers on the season, has been crucial for Tuskegee's success.
 
On the defensive end, Tuskegee has shown resilience, with 150 steals on the year for an average of 8.8 steals per game, and they will need to continue pressuring Miles' offensive attack to stay successful.
 
The team ranks first in the conference in scoring defense, allowing just 55.3 points per contest, along with ranking third in the SIAC in opponent field goal percentage (35.4 percent) and three-point percentage (25.6 percent).
 
The Golden Tigers have also been strong on the boards, averaging 38.6 rebounds per game, with standout players such as Bolin, Cantone and Manuel contributing significantly in the rebounding department.
 
ABOUT MILES (11-3, 8-2 SIAC)
The Lady Bears are currently riding a four-game winning streak and will look to continue their strong performance, as they have not lost since January 2 at Clark Atlanta.
 
Miles comes into this matchup with a strong offense, averaging 62.9 points per game on 37.6 percent shooting from the field. The Lady Bears are led by Feliah Greer, who is averaging 10.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
 
Tederia Ashley has been another key player for Miles, averaging 8.9 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game. Additionally, Iemyiah Harris has been effective from the three-point line, knocking down 18 three-pointers at a 28.6 percent clip.
 
This game will be a crucial one for both teams, as both look to maintain strong positions in the SIAC standings.
 
Tuskegee will rely on its balanced offense and aggressive defense to neutralize Miles' scoring threats, while the Lady Bears will aim to continue their winning streak and further solidify their lead in the conference.
