TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Tuskegee baseball dropped a midweek non-conference matchup against Point, 12-2, in a seven-inning contest on Wednesday afternoon at Washington Field.
Point was the first to get on the board in the opening inning after a leadoff walk and a sacrifice fly to center field later in the frame to score the first run. The Skyhawks added to their lead in the top of the second despite earning just one hit, scoring on a ground ball and a sacrifice fly on consecutive at bats to take a 3-0 lead.
Tuskegee got on the board in the bottom half of the second, as
Nicholas Pratt got on by being hit by a pitch, followed by a single from
Brian Hardaway II. Later in the inning,
Chris Smith hit a two out triple, scoring Hardaway II and
James Slaughter.
Point added another two runs in the third thanks to bases loaded RBI walks, giving them a 5-2 lead, before adding another score in the top of the fourth. The Skyhawks continued the offensive production with four runs in the fifth thanks to four hits and three errors, before pushing the game out of reach in the sixth with the 12-2 lead.
Daniel Williams Jr. started on the mound for Tuskegee, surrendering two hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one and walking three. Meanwhile, Five other pitchers appeared out of the bullpen, allowing a combined six hits and nine runs (three earned).
Smith led the Golden Tigers at the plate, going 1-for-2 with the RBI triple that drove in a both runs. Hardaway II led the team with two hits in three at bats.

Tuskegee will return to the diamond on for its final home series on Friday, starting a three-game conference series against Spring Hill at Washington Field. The first pitch on Friday is set for 3 p.m.
