SAVANNAH, Ga. __ Tuskegee women's basketball meets the top seed in the East, Savannah State, in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 SIAC Championship, presented by Cricket on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. ET in a home game for SSU inside of Tiger Arena.

Tuskegee will appear in their third consecutive SIAC quarterfinal matchup after knocking out Allen (68-53) in the opening round Tuesday afternoon. The win marked the fourth straight SIAC Championship win after taking the title in 2023.
The Golden Tigers are led by All-SIAC guard
Brittney Bolin along with fellow backcourt mate
Sumaiyah Abdur-Rahim. Bolin, the second-team All-SIAC selection, averaged 12.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists this season and has now scored in double figures 17 of 24 games after pouring in ten points in the opening round against the Yellow Jackets.
Abdur-Rahim has also provided consistent play at the guard spot, also averaging 12 points along with 3.6 rebounds, and team-highs of 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals per contest. Meanwhile,
Arielle McElroy and
Jasmine Manuel have also added firepower, averaging 8.4 and 8.1 points per game, while Manuel leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per game.
Savannah State will play its first game of the 2024 SIAC Women's Basketball Championship after earning the top seed in the East and receiving a double bye into the quarterfinal round.
SSU enters the tournament on a three-game winning streak and have won eight of their last nine contests. The team has the number three offense in the SIAC, averaging 68.1 points a game and has the number three defense, yielding 58.6 points a night.
Led by All-SIAC First Team performers Nyla Allen and Amari Heard, the Lady Tigers own a 19-5 record and went 15-4 in SIAC play.
Savannah State owns an 3-2 lead in the series over the last five meetings between the programs, while SSU took the only meeting this season, a 60-51 inside Tiger Arena. However, Tuskegee won the last meeting in postseason play, defeating SSU 68-41 in Rock Hill, S.C., in the 2020 SIAC Championship play.
