TUSKEGEE __ It came down to the wire on Saturday afternoon at Washington Field, as Tuskegee grabbed its first win of the season with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Tougaloo College.
With the game tied at six in the bottom of the ninth,
Harrison Barnes drove in the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly to center field with the bases loaded to score
Devon Lee.
Tuskegee (1-4) rallied for the victory despite trailing 6-1 heading into the seventh inning.
After a pair of scoreless innings, Tougaloo got on the board in the top of the third on an RBI double and two RBI singles, scoring five runs on the three combined hits.
The Golden Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the eighth thanks to a sacrifice fly from
Nicholas Pratt and later a hit and score from
Evan Jones.
Mikelle Mason picked up his first win on the mound, allowing no hits and no runs in three innings of work out of the bullpen, striking out two. Caleb Carter took the loss for the Bulldogs, starting the game and going seven innings, surrendering three runs on three hits, striking out three and walking five.
Jaylen Hill got the start for Tuskegee, working five and two-thirds innings, and allowing nine hits and four runs, while earning four strikeouts. Meanwhile, Daniel Williams also appeared in relief.
Lee led the Golden Tigers with two hits in three at-bats, including a crucial double in the ninth to put himself in scoring position. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks in the contest, led by two from Barnes.
Four different base runners stole multiple bases in the game, as TU accumulated 11 stolen bases, while six batters earned a hit.
Tougaloo totaled 11 hits in the game, led by Khilan Magee who went 3-for-5 from the plate and scored two runs.

The Golden Tigers will host Rust College on Tuesday, Feb. 13 for a non-conference midweek doubleheader. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. at Washington Field.
