FAIRFIELD, Ala. – Tuskegee Volleyball emerged victorious in their rivalry matchup against Miles on Saturday morning, sweeping the match 3-0 in a decisive fashion on the road at Knox-Windham Gym.
The Golden Tigers extended their winning streak to two games, displaying a balanced attack and formidable defense throughout each set.
Tuskegee took command early, securing a 25-17 win in the opening set. The offense was spearheaded by
Lauren Canady, who contributed multiple key kills to keep the team ahead.
Setters
Mikea Allen and
Amara Dotson orchestrated the attack effectively, distributing assists to a diverse set of attackers, while
Chloe Edwards and
Ziniah Hardy combined for six crucial digs that disrupted Miles' offensive rhythm.
The Golden Tigers maintained their momentum in the next set, overcoming a few challenges from Miles to claim the second set 25-20. The defense shone brightly, with Canady and
Sian Sprinkle delivering key blocks at the net. Hardy continued to excel on the backline, while both setters combined for four total service aces, earning critical points for Tuskegee.
Tuskegee closed out the match with a 25-21 win in the third set. The trio of
Gabriella Jones,
Ma'Kayla Jones, and Sprinkle each had two kills in the set. Miles continued to fight in the set, however TU later pulled away for the sweep.
Jones finished the game with a team-high nine kills along with four total blocks, followed by Canady and Sprinkle both added seven kills and hit above .600 in the win.
Meanwhile, Allen and Dotson combined for 30 assists and six aces, while
Ziniah Hardy led the defense with a career-high 21 digs.

The two teams will meet for the last time this season on November 12, as Tuskegee celebrates Senior Day. First set inside the Daniel "Chappie" James Center is set for 5 p.m.
