Women’s Basketball to Face Spring Hill on the Road

MOBILE, Ala. __ The Tuskegee women's basketball team remains on the road for the final game of the current four-game road stretch, as they take on Spring Hill inside Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Wednesday evening. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

With a 10-6 overall record and 7-5 in SIAC play coming into the game, the Golden Tigers are coming off a 68-47 loss on Saturday afternoon on the road to Miles.
 
Tuskegee has dropped two straight conference games and look to recover and move up in the standings as four of their next five games are at home at the Daniel "Chappie" James Center. On the season, TU is 5-5 away from home, including 4-4 in true road games.
 
Sumaiyah Abdur-Rahim has been on a tear lately, leading the Golden Tigers with a team-high 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and perfect 7-of-7 mark from the charity stripe along with four rebounds and three steals in the loss. The senior guard has scored in double figures each of the last seven games, starting at the beginning of 2024 with a home win against Allen (Jan. 4).
 
Junior guard Brittney Bolin and Abdur-Rahim have led the offensive production for Tuskegee so far this season, averaging 12.7 and 12.5 points per game, both being top-15 in the conference.
 
As a team, Tuskegee scores 61.8 points per game on 370-of-945 shooting from the field (39.2 percent) and 71-of-228 (31.1 percent) from three-point range, compared to the third fewest average points allowed (60.4) in the conference. The three-point line has been key for the program this season, ranking second in percentage and third in defensive three-point percentage.
 
Spring Hill is also coming off a loss on the road to Miles on Monday (Jan. 29), and currently sit at 4-12 overall and 4-8 in the SIAC. Marta Duda and Kellyn Hunter are the two double figure scorers on the team, averaging 15.4 and 13.9 points per contest, while Dude also averages a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game.
 
As a team, the Badgers average 60.9 points per game on the year and hold current shooting splits of 36.6 percent from the field (328-of-897), 29.3 percent from the three-point line (83-of-283) and 72.5 percent from the charity stripe (235-of-324).
