TUSKEGEE, Ala. ^__ Sophomore Akeirah Walker has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office.
 
The Clinton, Miss. native earns her first career Athlete of the Week award after making her season debut at the Foothills Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State last Friday. Walker ran for a time of 17:34.4 in the women's 4k, leading the Golden Tigers in the event.

Walker and the Golden Tigers will travel to Montevallo, Ala. On Friday, Sept. 15 to compete in the 2023 Falcon Classic, hosted by the University of Montevallo.
