TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Tuskegee volleyball was swept 25-18, 25-19, 25-22, on Wednesday by Miles inside of Knox-Wyndham Gym in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opener for both programs.
Miles played outstanding, hitting .323 in the match, and holding the Golden Tigers to a .194 hitting percentage.
Moriah Seay led Tuskegee offensively for the third consecutive game to start the year, finishing the match with a season-high 15 kills along with seven digs and 16.5 total points. Meanwhile,
Mikea Allen also finished with a near double-double, recording 15 assists, eight digs, and a pair of service aces on the night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | Miles took the first game, 25-23, after leading most of the way in a close set. The Golden Bears jumped out to a 13-6 lead before the Golden Tigers rallied with a 11-8 run to cut the lead to 21-17 lead, before Miles closed out the remainder of the set with the 25-18 win.
SET 2 | The second set was a back-and-forth affair, with the lead changing hands six total times. With the score tied at 12-12, Miles made a 5-0 run to take control of momentum and later took the 25-19 win.
SET 3 | The Golden Bears led nearly the entire third set and won it 25-22 to complete the sweep, despite a tight third. Miles jumped out to an early lead and even stretched their edge to double digits at 20-10, before Tuskegee fought back, falling 25-22.
