TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee softball dropped games to No. 1 seed and host site Tampa (41-3) and No. 5 seed Mississippi College (43-11) in the NCAA South Regional Tournament over the weekend.

The Golden Tigers fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-0 loss to University of Tampa on Thursday. Tampa took the lead on a double in the first inning and did not look back.
Tuskegee struggled to contain the high-powered Tampa offense, giving up eight runs on seven hits in the contest.
The Golden Tigers threatened in the opening inning with
Victoria Harrison reaching on an error followed by a two-out single to left to put runners in scoring position, however, could not convert. The offense got going for Tampa in the bottom of the frame with an RBI double for an early 2-0 lead.
The offense continued for the Spartans in the third as they loaded the bases and later scored on a line out and throwing error, before adding another on a fielder's choice play and lastly an RBI single to center to gain the 5-0 edge.
A single by
Jada Chadwick in the fourth inning was the positive for Tuskegee at the plate and was the lone baserunner in the contest.
Mary Beth Feldman was in the pitcher's circle for Tampa, lasting five innings and allowing two hits, while striking out seven.
Kamya Hampton got the start for in the circle, allowing eight runs on six hits and walking four.
Caroline Clark faced the remaining three batters of the game, allowing just one hit and a pair of force outs.
Mississippi College 8, Tuskegee 0
The Golden Tigers fell in a similar fashion on Friday, as Mississippi College scored five in the first off just one hit.
Tuskegee threatened in the first, as
Victoria Harrison got on with an error, followed by a two-out single to left from
Marissa Mitchell to put runners on second and third, yet they could not convert.
Mississippi College loaded the bases in the bottom half of the inning after two walks and one being hit by a pitch. The Lady Choctaws scored their first run on an infield error on the next at-bat, followed by an RBI groundout to score thee second. MC added another pair of runs on a double to center, while a final walk with the bases loaded for the 5-0 advantage.
After a sacrifice fly in the second, the Lady Choctaws added another run in the bottom of the third before a final score on a single to left field for the 8-0 final.
Nylah Strange-Lindley singled in the fourth and advanced on a throwing error, but an infield fly ended the inning with another runner left on for Tuskegee.
Hampton (11-11) took the loss in the circle after facing 10 batters, while Clark worked the remainder of the game, allowing three runs and striking out two. Chadwick and Harrison combined for the pair of hits on the day.
Camryn Bailey led things off in the pitcher's circle for Mississippi College, allowing four hits over five innings and striking out two.
