ATLANTA, Ga. __ As announced by the conference on Tuesday morning, a duo of Tuskegee student-athletes were named First-Team All-SIAC, and four more were named as Second-Team All-SIAC honorees.
First team DB
Mikael King had an outstanding sophomore season after converting from wide receiver in fall camp, ranking No. 1 in the SIAC and No. 4 in the country in interceptions per game, and No. 2 in the conference and No. 17 in the country in passes defended on the year. King also ranked fourth for Tuskegee in total tackles (39), tied for second in solo tackles (29) and leads in both interceptions (6) and breakups (6). His stellar year started in the season opener, as he accounted for one tackle, one interception and one breakup against Fort Valley, before getting his second interception of the year in the third game against Central State, along with seven tackles and 1.0 TFL. He recorded a career-high eight tackles, including six solos and 1.0 TFL, interceptions and pass breakup against Lane. Against Morehouse, he caught one interception, broke up a pass and had six total tackles. King broke up a pair of passes against Edward Waters, before a career-high two interceptions on the road against Savannah State.
LB
Malik Moore joins King on the first team, after ranking No. 5 in the SIAC and 63rd in the nation in total tackles this season (75), averaging 7.5 tackles per game. Moore also ranked No. 9 in the SIAC in solo tackles with 39 and 3.9 per game, and 13th in the conference in tackles for loss, averaging 1.0 TFLs per game, with 10.0 total tackles for loss on the season. The sophomore led Tuskegee in tackles (75), tackles for loss (10.0), sacks (4.0) and solo tackles (39). Moore recorded two double-figure tackles games this season, including a 10-tackle effort against Central State and a career best 13 against Lane. Against Central State, Hill had 10 tackles, including six solo tackles and 1.5 TFL. Versus Lane, he was credited with 13 tackles, 0.5 TFL, and 1 quarterback hurry. The linebacker also has totals of four pass breakups, two hurries, one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery on the year.
Damion Clark was named Second Team All-SIAC from his offensive line spot on a uit that had the Golden Tigers ranked No. 4 in the SIAC and No. 82 in the nation in rushing offense in 2023, averaging 141.4 rushing yards per game. The offensive guard is part of a Golden Tiger offense that rushed for over 120 yards in six of ten games this season (227 at Kentucky State, 168 vs. Lane, 237 vs. Morehouse, 129 vs. Edward Waters, 190 at Savannah State, and 188 against Clark Atlanta). He helped fuel a TU offense that totaled over 300 yards in total offense in six games this season (314 at Kentucky State, 440 vs. Central State, 320 against Lane, 385 vs. Morehouse, 461 against Edward Waters, and 325 at Savannah State). Behind Clark and his offensive line unit, Tuskegee had two running backs record a 100-yard rushing games this season.
Zina Mulbah rushed for 113 yards at Savannah State and 134 yards against Clark Atlanta, while
Johnny Morris rushed for 188 yards against Morehouse.
Second Team P
Ryan Duff continued to show he was one of the best punters in the league in his senior season, ranking fifth in the SIAC and 80th in the nation in yards per punt (36.9). The Mobile native punted a total of 47 times for 1,731 total yards on the year, with a long of 48, four touchbacks, 13 caught for a fair catch, and 18 punts inside the 20.
WR
Antonio Meeks joins them on the Second Team, as he was one of the most explosive receivers in the SIAC for the second straight year in his sophomore season, averaging 19.5 yards per catch. He also ranked fourth in the SIAC and 33rd in the country in receiving yards per game (77.3), and 38th in the nation in receiving yards (696), fifth in the SIAC and 63rd in the country in receptions per game (4.4), as well as fifth in the league and 86th in the nation in receiving touchdowns (5). He had his first 100-yard receiving game of the year in the season opener against Fort Valley State, catching 6 passes for 149 yards and one touchdown. Meeks also had four receptions for 119 yards and two scores against Central State, nine catches for 179 yards and one score against Edward Waters, five catches for 92 yards on the road at Savannah State, and eight catches for 73 yards and one score against Miles last weekend. On the season, Meeks totaled 40 receptions for 696 yards and six touchdowns.
Christian Ramsey proved to be a leader on the defensive unit in his first year as a starter at safety, finishing third on the team in total tackles (41.0), and second in solo stops (29), pass breakups (4), and interceptions (3). He ranks No. 5 in the SIAC and No. 78 in the country in interceptions per game (0.3). The safety made four solo stops and intercepted his first career pass against Fort Valley State, while earning a career-high nine total tackles, including eight solos and two interceptions against Morehouse in Birmingham.
