The Tuskegee University volleyball team struggled in its first day at the 2019 SIAC West Cluster in Frankfurt, Kentucky Friday afternoon. The two day division clash among the western division schools is hosted at Kentucky State. TU fell to Lane College in game one 3-1 and in straight sets to Kentucky State, 3-0.
Crystal Hall paced TU with eight Kills, but it would not be enough to overcome the Thorobreds who outperformed the Golden Tigers in that category 38-15. In fact the only other player on the roster with more than one kill was
Santana Lewis, who finished with two along with eight assists.
Hall also paced Skegee with five digs while
Syncere Ellis, Khirra Kenny and Lewis all notched four each.
TU was outscored 52-21 in points against the Breds. A year ago, TU went a perfect 4-0 at the West Custer, which included a 3-0 win over KSU.
The Golden Tigers will open Saturday morning with a 10:00 a.m. match LeMoyne Owen College and will close out the tournament with a 12:00 p.m. match against Central State.
