Kaleb Morton scored a career-high 23 points Monday night at the Chappie James Center but it wouldn't be enough to get the Tuskegee University men's basketball team past LeMoyne Owen College, falling 82-73. The loss drops the Golden Tigers to 12-10 overall and 8-6 in the SIAC.
LOC led TU 43-40 and halftime, but the Golden Tigers opened the second half with a 13-1 run after a
Myles Thomas jumper made the score 55-44 within the first four minutes. The Magicians had the game tied at 55-55 after going on a run of their own with 12:35 left in the game.
Morton also earned another career high by sinking six of the team's 10 three pointers on the night. The Golden Tigers shot 60 percent from beyond the arc in the first half and finished connecting on 40 percent for the game.
Myles Thomas scored 20 points to go along with six rebounds while making 3-of-4 from three point range.
Jordan Lewis was an efficient 6-of-8 from the field for 13 points rounding out the double figure scoring
Devin Booker paced LOC with 30 points including six three pointers.
The Golden Tigers face Miles College Saturday afternoon in Fairfield with a double-header that starts at 1 p.m.
