BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (February 24, 2019) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced its annual men's basketball awards to cap the 2018-19 season and junior Myles Thomas earned a spot as a second-team player. This year's all-conference teams, which features fifteen student-athletes, were voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

Thomas led TU in scoring at 14.6 per game and once went through a string of scoring in double figures five straight games. The Tallahassee, Fla. native has scored in double figures 14 times this season including a career-high 24 points against Central State. Out of 23 games, only three times this season he didn't make at least one three pointer. Eight times this season the junior has connected on three or more three pointers, which includes a career-high five against Miles College.

After only winning seven games during the 2017-18 year, Thomas helped TU to a five game improvement this season and at one point assisted the team being on an eight-game winning streak.

The 2019 SIAC Basketball Tournament is set to tip off on February 25, with the final scheduled for March 2. The Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama will host the tournament for the third time, with 13 men's teams vying for the SIAC crown. Skegee opens play at 1 p.m. Monday afternoon against Fort Valley State. A live video stream will be available via Flo Sports.
