Tuskegee Hangs on at Home

Tuskegee men's basketball held on in a gritty contest against Clark Atlanta, winning 68-65 to improve to 5-5 on the season. 

Myles Thomas led all scoring with 21 points. Thomas scored in double figures for the fourth consecutive game after coming off a career-high 25 points two games prior at West Florida. 

In the Second half, the Golden Tigers and the Panthers battled fiercely as the lead swapped seven times and tied five times with the biggest lead coming by way of Clark Atlanta at seven (15:33). 

Gregg Boyd scored nine of his 12 points in the second half and finished with four assists and a steal shooting 100% from the three-point line (4-4). 

With 3:51 remaining, the Golden Tigers found themselves down by three after a pair of free-throws by Clark-Atlanta Forward Romaine Thomas. Following the Panthers free throws, Myles Thomas found himself at the line shooting a pair of free throws and was able to bring the deficit down to one. 

Following a missed three-point shot by Clark Atlanta's Romaine Thomas, Deshawn Millington rebounded the ball and found James Eads on the fast break transition for the go-ahead dunk. This gave the Golden Tigers a 66-65 lead with 47 seconds remaining.  

Clark Atlanta called a timeout in order to draw up a play which resulted in a missed shot which forced Clark Atlanta to foul. This sent Myles Thomas to the line to extend the Tuskegee's lead to three with ten seconds remaining. 

Tuskegee travels to Fort Valley State to take on Fort Valley State on Dec. 16th. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm EST.
