James Eads led the game in scoring with 25 points, three rebounds, two steals to beat the Fort Valley Cougars at home 66-62.
Fort Valley took an early lead over Tuskegee, scoring the 16 of the first 20 points in the contest. Fort Valley guard K'Viontae Williams scored eight of those points. Finishing the contest with 16 points, eight rebounds, and two steals.
With 10:14 in the first half, the Golden Tigers found themselves down 14 points (18-4). James Eads hit a 3 pointer to begin a run 20-4 that lasted 6 minutes and 28 seconds to bring the score to 24-22 in favor of Tuskegee. Eads, the leading scorer in the SIAC scored 18 points in the first half alone. Myles Thomas contributed 12 points in the half and four rebounds. Thomas finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
The Golden Tigers started to pull away with the lead in the closing seconds of the first half as James Eads hits a 3 pointer buzzer-beater to close out the first half and give Tuskegee a nine-point lead.
In the Second half, the Golden Tigers extended their lead to 14 (45-31) following a layup assisted by James Eads. DeShawn Millington contributed nine points in the second half, shooting 75% from the floor (3-for-4). Millington finished with 10 points, six rebounds and two assists.
Fort Valley's Shawn Foxbrennen kept the game close, scoring 14 points in the second half which included an and-one to bring the Wildcats within three points. Foxbrennen led FVS to a comeback with five minutes left in the second half and tied the game with a dribble-drive layup 53-53.
Fort Valley kept the lead for three minutes and fifty seconds before a crucial foul by Foxbrennen sent DeShawn Millington to the line with 1:20 remaining to tie the game 59-59. Millington missed the second free throw and got the rebound to lay it up and bring the score to 61-59.
Myles Thomas stole the ball from Fort Valley States' Foxbrennen with 18 seconds to seal the game.
Tuskegee Travels to Savannah, Georgia December 21st to play Savannah State. Tip-off is set for 3 P.M. EST
