Tuskegee Cruises past Columbus State

James Eads led his team to victory leading with 19 points, shooting 54% (6-for-11) from the floor. Tuskegee University moves to 4-5 on the season after a 70-50 win at home against Columbus State University.

The Golden Tigers took an early lead in the contest scoring nine of the first 12 points.  

Myles Thomas scored 11 points in the first half with nine rebounds. Thomas finished the game with 15 points and 15 rebounds and one steal. 

Columbus State guard Landarius Horton scored 12 points in the first half in efforts to keep the game close. The high-powered Golden Tiger offense was showing in full effect as Tuskegee took the lead early 16-5. 

A three-pointer by Gregg Boyd sent the Golden Tigers into the locker room up 35-21.

In the second half, Tuskegee continued to add to their lead after a steal from Gregg Boyd turned into a layup to bring Tuskegee's lead to 16 (37-21). 

The Columbus State Cougars faced their biggest deficit midway in the second half (10:08) after a three-pointer by Gregg Boyd brought the score to 53-30. Boyd finished 13 points, seven assists, and four rebounds.

The Golden Tigers held Columbus State to 50 points, with the Cougars shooting a season-low 25.8% (17-for-66) from the floor. 

Tuskegee returns to action Saturday, December 14th against Clark Atlanta University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 pm EST in Atlanta, Georgia.
