James Eads scored 25 points and three rebounds as the Golden Tigers beat the University of Montevallo 75-68 at home in Chappie James Arena. Deshawn Millington contributed 20 points and six rebounds shooting 57% (8-of-14)
The Golden Tigers went into the second half down after two free throws from Romario Spence giving Montevallo the lead into halftime 31-29. Montevallo guard Xavier Malcom was the leading scorer of the first half with 11 points and five rebounds.
Moving into the second half the Golden Tigers went to work. Myles Thomas scored a layup to tie the game early in the second half 19:04. Following a missed jumper by Montevallo, Eads found Millington in the corner for an open three-point shot to give the Golden Tigers the lead 36-33.
Tuskegee found their biggest lead late in the second half 69-59 with 1:51 following a three-point shot by Eads.
The Golden Tigers move to 2-3 on the season. The next game will be in Atlanta, Georgia, as the Golden Tigers take on Morehouse College. Tip-off is set for 3:00 pm CST, Saturday, November 30th.
