India Blakely scored a career-high 24 points, while Normesha Pitts put up 16 points and 6 rebounds to beat Southern University at New Orleans (LA.) 85-75.
The Golden Tigers traveled to New Orleans to face the Knights and came out with a win to give Tuskegee a 3-2 record. Genesis Adams improved on her shooting percentage from last game’s 70% shooting to 75% (6-of-8) from the floor contributing 14 points and nine rebounds.
Sha'Quanta Pettis’ 24 point effort was not enough to overcome the Golden Tiger attack. The Golden Tigers shot 53% (8-of-15 3PFG) from the arc with Normesha Pitts making four of four, three in the 2nd quarter which gave the Golden Tigers a 50-43 lead going into halftime.
In the start of the second half, India Blakely contributed 9 points to grow Tuskegee’s lead to 17 points, the biggest lead of the game. Lena Yoonis shot 71% (5-of-7) and finished with eight rebounds.
