James Eads led the way in scoring with 17 points and four rebounds to defeated the Argonauts 63- 57 to get their first win of the season.
Tuskegee University took an early lead in the first half shooting 35% (10-28) from the floor. DeShawn Millington shot 66% (3-5) and had 7 points to give the Golden Tigers a 26-21 point lead going into half.
Kaleb Morton set the tone in the second half, scoring 12 points, all 3 three pointers, shooting 66% (4-6 3PFG) from the arc giving Tuskegee its biggest lead of the game 17 (52-35).
The 19 point performance from Lawerence Williams was enough to keep the game close as the Argonauts made a run with 9 minutes in the second half to close the 17 point gap down to 2. The go-ahead score from Myles Thomas gave TU a 59-55 lead which forced the Argonauts to foul sending James Eads to the line as he finished out the game with a pair of free throws.
The 1-1 Golden Tigers will travel for their next contest against Montevallo University on Tuesday November 19th at 7:00 PM CT.
