Genesis Adams and Breanna Stephens combined for 33 points to help the Golden Tigers earn their second win of the season against University of Montevallo 88-81 on Friday night.
University of Montevallo took an early lead in the first quarter outscoring the Golden Tigers in the 1st quarter 24-16, shooting 66%(10-15) from the floor. The Falcons then carried the lead into halftime as Kiya Sain led her team with 11 points, finishing the game with 17.
Normesha Pitts added an additional 11 points after a slow start in the first half to help her team come back in the 3rd Quarter. During the third quarter comeback, the Golden Tigers captured the lead for the first time since the opening period.
A dominating second half performance from Teja Finley allowed the Golden Tigers to keep their lead throughout the 4th quarter as Finley finished the night with 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Golden Tigers now at 2-2 will travel to New Orleans to play Southern University at New Orleans on Monday, November 18th.
