The Tuskegee University women's basketball team earned their first win 68-26 against Shorter University. Genesis Adams led the Golden Tiger charge with her first double-double scoring 11 points, with 10 rebounds, and one block on Tuesday night.
Before capturing their first win, the Golden Tigers dropped two games to AUM 68-57 and the University of Montevallo 76-55 in the Gulf South Tournament.
The Golden Tigers took control early in the 1st quarter with a 17 point lead. Their biggest lead came in the 4th quarter when the Hawks found themselves down by 42. The Golden Tigers went on a 17 point run late in the 4th quarter and held Shorter University to two points in the 4th quarter and only allowed nine points combined in the second half.In addition to Adams double-double, Shelle Daniels added 10 points and Normesha Pitts finished with nine points on the evening.
The Golden Tigers will host the University of Montevallo November 15th at Chappie James Arena at 5:30 pm CST.
